His main hobby, other than programming things, is reading.
Notebook Leader
Austin English is a sophomore, and this is his second year of robotics. He joined robotics again because he enjoys building and notebook and had a good experience with his first year of FTC. Previously, he helped design parts of the robot such as a shooter and the drivetrain, and helped with whatever small task was needed. He also likes building the robot itself and likes seeing the finished robot get the job done. Austin was a leader of an FLL team he was in during middle school. He enjoys aeronautics as well as hands-on projects, and also likes to work with computers. He is looking forward to building the robot and helping out the team as much as he can.
Communications Leader
Jolie Miller is a freshman at Hagerty High School. This is her fourth year in FTC and her first on Hagerty Robotics. She joined Hagerty Robotics because she enjoys the FIRST atmosphere and has met some of her best friends through robotics. She loves animals and her hobbies include reading, writing, creating, volunteering, baking, cuddling her guinea pigs, and of course, FTC. Jolie has an amazing chocolate chip cookie recipe memorized and you will frequently find her baking anything she has the ingredients for. She doesn’t know exactly what she wants to do when she gets older, but hopes to start a small animal rescue someday.
Chief Engineer
Nicholas Injo joined robotics because he was interested in the capabilities of robots and interested in engineering. This is his fourth year in Robotics Club at Hagerty. He is the Chief Engineer for both teams. Outside of robotics, he enjoys practicing and playing tennis, as he is on the school varsity team. Something interesting about him is that he is half Hispanic and Asian, and gets to experiences the best of both cultures. Nicholas would like to major in a field of engineering because he feels that it fits his personality and interests, although he does not know what field of engineering to pursue.
Team Members
Alex Eum is a freshman at Hagerty High School. This is his first year on Hagerty’s 4717 Robotics team. He joined the robotics team because he wanted to join the robotics team after seeing it on the school website along with enjoying STEM. He also wants to earn some experience in engineering as he wants to study mechanical engineering or AI in college. His favorite food is Galbi, or Korean style short ribs. His favorite hobby is tennis, which he has been playing for 7 years. He was born in Kentucky, moved to Miami when he was 8 and moved to Orlando in the summer of 2017. Asheya Naik is a sophomore at Hagerty High, and recently arrived in Florida in the summer of 2017 from Toronto, Canada. He loves swimming, biking and photography. His favorite sport is the sport of the mind; robotics! Living in Canada for over 7 years, he used to be a part of the first robotics team in all of Canada within his high school, Team 188 BLIZZARD of Woburn Collegiate Institute. Joining Team 188 as a freshman in his high school, he discovered the astounding world of STEM, and finally found a career he could pursue; engineering. He participated in the VEX and FRC competitions, and even operated their VEX 2016-17 robot. In FRC, Team 188 went all the way to World Championships, where Asheya could work in the Pit Crew. It was an amazing experience, and after learning about his bittersweet departure to Florida, he thought that he would perhaps never see that world again. So when he learned that Hagerty High School in Oviedo, Florida had a similar robotics club that participated in FTC and VEX, he was excited to delve into that world yet again, with new eyes and a new competition; FTC. He hopes to build his leadership skills, and time management, as well as improve his knowledge on the design/building of the mechanical aspects of robotics. GO TEAM 4717!
