Leadership
Team Leader
Edgar Madruga is a senior and second year member of hagerty robotics. He joined hagerty robotics to develop his programming skills, but ended up learning creo and working on hardware instead. He enjoys hanging out with his robotics friends and making bad references to popular culture. This year, he hopes to improve his creo abilities and make more complex mechanisms for the robot while keeping the team organized as this season’s team captain. His goal for the team this year is to push the team to the south super regional, as the team has never advanced that far.
Outreach Leader
Nancy Chen is a junior at Hagerty High School. The reason Nancy joined Robotics is because she heard of all the cool conventions the Hagerty High School Robotics club goes to during the year. Also she was interested in building a robot to fit the game's challenge. Nancy learned from Robotics how to do simple programming and CAD. Nancy likes watching anime, sleeping, and blankets.
Programming Leader
Neel Maity is a sophomore here at Hagerty High. This his second year on the Hagerty Robotics team. He joined the robotics team because he thoroughly enjoys science, technology, math, and engineering or STEM. He also is highly considering engineering as his future career so and he is sure that this club will teach him more skills and information that engineers need to know. He also find robotics very interesting and would love to learn more, and what way could be better than helping to build one. His favorite food is sushi and his favorite hobby is 3D modeling, He’s looking forward to learning more and helping out his team as much as he can.
Notebook Leader
Aashni Patel is a sophomore at Hagerty High school. She joined the team this year. She joined because she wanted to learn how to program and build robots. She hopes to attend MIT or Georgia Tech and become a physicist in the future. She is on the notebook committee for her team, and is learning to use LaTeX to help create the notebook for her team.
Team Members
Alex Tao is a Freshman here at Hagerty High School. This is his first year on the Hagerty Robotics team. He joined robotics because he enjoys Programming, Technology, Engineering, and Math. He is also highly interested in making engineering his future career and this club will teach him the basics of it. He hopes to learn how to code, and build the robot and learn more about the hardware a robot. He got interested in robots in middle school, when he participated in Robotics and a battlebots tournament and wants to delve deeper into more detailed aspects of how a robot works and how it is created. His favorite food is Chicken Soup and his favorite hobbies are Solving Math problems, and playing chess. He also enjoys playing Tennis with his friends. His favorite book is Night by Elie Wiesel and his favorite club is Math club (unfortunately not robotics) He’s looking forward to this year and all the new things that he can learn from it!
Anthony Donato is Junior at Hagerty High School. This is Anthony’s first year on the Hagerty Robotics team. Anthony joined the robotics team because he believes that he will soak in skills that he can use in a future profession. He is trying to get into a profession such as electrical, aerospace or systems engineering. He also joined because one of his teachers, Mr. Ibarguen told him about the team, and Anthony though the club would be entertaining. Anthony enjoys playing sports like lacrosse. He also enjoys kayaking, biking and drinking Dr. Pepper, but who doesn’t. Anthony also enjoys shows/movies like Game of Thrones and the Hunger Games. Anthony has three sisters. He babysits two of them very often, they are 3 and 5 years old. Anthony has taken a robotics class in middle school and he is taking AP computer Science where he is learning the components of computers and how they work together, plus how to program in python.
Brian Hansen is a junior at Hagerty High School. He hasn’t been in robotics yet, but is excited to learn about how it all works. He joined the robotics team because he enjoys designing, 3D modeling, drawing, programming, and learning about the natural world through scientific research. He is interested in learning about the skills necessary for robotics such as programming and building the robots. His favorite food is Ramen Noodles, his favorite hobby is looking at the night sky through his telescope, and his favorite movie is Interstellar. He isn’t involved in any sports at the moment, but plans on doing track in the spring. He is enthusiastic about working hard for his passions (this being one of them) and is quick to learn.
Carter Jensen
Devan Ravani. Devan is a freshman and did 3 years of FLL. He has not done FTC before and didn't know much about it. Now he does thanks to the Hagerty Robotics camp. He enjoys sports and building/programming robots. He also likes Basketball. He lead his basketball team to the league championship which they won. He also plays the drums. He played for the Jackson Heights band for 3 years and was one of the best in his school. He joined the team because he wants to be an engineer when he grows up and this team will help improve his knowledge. He can’t wait to learn more things with the 4227 robotics team.
Divij Lankalapalli is a freshman at Seminole High School. This is his first year on Hagerty Robotics. He joined the robotics team because he is interested in math and technology. He hopes to gain experience in the engineering field through robotics. He also hopes to gain necessary leadership skills for the tasks needed to be done in real world situations. His favorite foods include ice cream and fruit. In his free time he likes watching TV and playing with his dog, Sonic. He participates in soccer and competition math. He’s looking forward to a good year with Hagerty Robotics.
Jordan Tluzek is a Junior at Hagerty High School. This is his first year in the Robotics Club. He had taken both Robotics One and Robotics Two but never bothered to join the club till this year. What he enjoys doing is working with hardware, drawing cartoons, and messing around with his dogs. The reason he joined Robotics was because he likes building stuff. His goal for this year is to find a place on 4227 and contribute all he can to help the team win this season.
Nicolas Cai is a freshman at Hagerty High School. This is his first year on the Hagerty High Robotics team. He joined because of his interests in the STEAM program, or more specifically, the math and engineering parts. He wishes to acquire a career in technology, in either engineering or computer science. He wants to accomplish several things in Robotics this year. First, he wants to learn and implement CAD and coding into the team’s plan for the robot designs and programs. Second, he would like to learn the procedures for working with hardware and assembling parts together in order for them to work in unison. Lastly, he is curious about the opportunities fundraising and Outreach have for the club and its reputation in the area. His favorite sport is tennis, which he plays every week, and his favorite food are ramen noodles. His hobbies are reading and solving math problems, or in general, problem solving. Nicolas is ready to learn everything he can for the team and help them in a variety of subjects such as hardware, CAD, and notebook.
